My first studio portrait.
I did a quick lighting test with erin, playing with some new gear. This is my first attempt. Pretty happy with the results, but any suggestions/critiques are appreciated!
480exii (umbrella) camera right. Yn-560 (umbrella) low and back camera left. AB800 for background.

thunderbolt (lighting test)
Really like this phone (if only the battery would last longer)
BTW if you have an Android phone and are looking for a good camera app, check out Vignette. Worth every penny.

Product Photo Tests
7D 32mm 1/320 sec at f16 ISO100
DIY light box.
AB800 camera left (high), AB800 camera right (straight) both diffused with several layers of paper and frosted plastic. 430exii front/left 1/16 power with orbis ring. All fired with Cybersync.
I love everything abut this camera. I'd love to have a bulb mode and even a hotshoe, but even without those two things this point-and-shoot is the best i've ever used. A friend of mine dropped it a few weeks after I got it, (that's what the big scratch is on the side.) Still works great.
"The Beach Camera" this one never leaves my bag. When the lens comes out you can hear the crunch of sand in the gears. The back screen has two large black dots but the camera itself works just fine. Love the texture on this one.
"The College Camera" I forgot I even had this thing. Its been sitting in a 'junk box' for years. A friend of mine dropped it, so the card door doesn't close. But with a little piece of tape it stays shut and the camera works just fine.

7D Cmount
Canon EOS 7D with a 12.5 mm 1.4 C-mount television lens.
Doing some tests now and will post soon. Thought it would be fun to try.
The lens vignettes slightly but for the most part fills the frame. So far I have yet to capture an image in focus. With the iris almost completely closed and with a shutter time of around 30 seconds I am able to get close. But so far no luck.
I would guess the lens actually needs to be closer to the sensor? which i assume cant really be done without damaging something.
(this photo was taken with a canon powershot s95. This is also my first attempt at product photography so any suggestions are welcome!)
